Murat Morova

Murat Morova, graduated from the Fine Arts Academy of the Marmara University in 1977. He opened his first shows on 1987 and 1988. His works were on display at the Istanbul Biennial in 1989, and in 2001, he took part in the exhibition “The Perfumed Garden”, curated by Beral Madra, for the Turkish pavilion of the Venice Biennial. That same year, he participated in the “Signs of the City” exhibition held at the Bonn Art Museum with photographic works in which he superimposed his own image onto the waters of the Yerebatan (Basilica) Cistern, Istanbul.The following year, he was invited to the Buenos Aires Biennial. His works were later exhibited at group shows in Copenhagen, Paris and Thessaloniki. Meantime, his solo shows continued on a regular basis in Ankara and İstanbul. His drawings which were exhibited in 2004 at İstanbul Gallery Nev, were compiled as limited editions of silk-screen printings under the title of “Ah Min’el Aşk-ı Memnu”. Morova lives and works in İstanbul.
