Sefer Memişoğlu graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting and completed his master's degree at the same university. He studied photography, sound, film and drawing aesthetics at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam between 2007 and 2008. Subsequently, he participated in the Viafarini research program in Milan. His work has been exhibited at the Whitechapel Gallery in 2012, the Maison des Arts Georges Pompidou in 2010, and many other art centers including New York, Basel, Berlin, Venice, Venice, Seoul, Sofia and Rotterdam. In April 2023, Memişoğlu exhibited the final version of "The Eye's Ray" series, which he first started at Bradwolff Projects in Amsterdam in 2017 and exhibited at Depo in Istanbul the following year with the support of SAHA, at Galeri Nev. The artist continues his works in his own studio in Amsterdam.
